      About the Fabric
Using a micro porous coated nylon material Muddy Creek has created rain gear that is waterproof, breathable and ultra lightweight. This 21st century fabric works as a system, with millions of micro pores (like your skin) allowing moisture vapour to pass through and out. However, these micropores are too tiny to allow water droplets to come through its outer protective coating. This makes Muddy Creek Rain gear vastly more comfortable in warmer conditions than garments made from traditional fabrics like PVC, plastic or oilskin.

      Care Instructions
As with all waterproof and breathable fabrics, the outer protective coating (the Durable Waterproof Repellency or DWR layer) does need to be maintained periodically to maintain the fabric's waterproof integrity. This is easily and quickly done; we recommend cleaning and retreatment once a year for normal users. Simply gently machine wash your coat in a nonphosphate detergent and then, while it is still wet, retreating the fabric with a DWR product and then allow it to drip dry. We recommend the use of Revivex Synthetic Fabric Cleaner and ReviveX Durable Waterproofing.

      Muddy Creek Rain Slicker 7/6/2019
I received my Muddy Creek rain slicker today and yes, it looks like it might work out fine. The problem is, I didn't know it was made in China. If I knew that I would have bought something else made in the USA or Canada....or possibly some other country. What a shame this product has been developed in the US but gets China to make it.

Best Rain Coat for Riders 11/11/2016
I bought the Muddy Creek after thorough research for a real good rain riding coat. We dont have any good ones for heavy rain in Germany and the famous Aussie ones dont cover the saddle and make you sit in a puddle - yikes! Important for waterproofing: The revivex works great when applied to the wet coat as described above. Applying it when the coat is dry did not produce the same result for me. I have had my Muddy Creek for two years now and I am still very happy with it. Last summer my horse and I accompanied some Bavarian Cowboys in their oil slicks in heavy rain for a few hours and they could not believe that most of my horse and I were still dry under this modern fabric stuff afterwards!

The mother of all rain slickers 11/8/2015
First time I put this slicker on, I was pretty sure it would be WAY to big. Felt like I could put a couple of people in there with me and it nearly reached the floor. However, when mounted, it is perfect. The back completely covers the saddle and most of my horses rump, and the front can either tuck just behind the saddle horn, or drape over it nicely, keeping the front of the saddle dry. I am 5-7 tall, weigh 138 pounds, and when mounted, the medium slicker covers all but about four inches of my legs. Awesome hood and cape. Well-made, not too heavy for as much of it as there is. Very happy with it!
